Margaret Delp opened her Whidbey Island law office in 2009. Her practice focuses on Elder Law, including estate planning, trusts, probate, Medicaid planning, and end-of-life issues. She also assists small businesses with entity formation, leases and contracts.
During Margaret's early career, she worked for various governmental and nongovernmental organizations including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission, American Rivers, and during law school, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Margaret received her law degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 1993, and a B.S. in Accountancy from Villanova University in 1990.
Margaret loves Whidbey Island for its natural beauty and its compassionate, supportive community. Margaret shops at Good Cheer, supports the public schools, acclaims the Citizens Against Domestic & Sexual Abuse (CADA), and loves to garden and hike.
Margaret welcomes clients of all racial backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and religions, and regardless of immigration status.
Margaret believes strongly in giving back to the Whidbey Island community. She has served on the board of directors for the Volunteer Lawyer Program of Island County and Island Senior Resources. She currently serves on the board of directors South Whidbey Parks and Aquatics Foundation. Margaret also provides pro bono and discounted representation to low income clients.
